We talked to Boghossian and Julia Hormes , a psychologist specializing in food behaviors at the State University of New York at Albany, about what our eating habits really, say about who we are. Eating at a slow pace may be one of the most annoying things if you're the person that's already finished and waiting on someone else. However, people who don't seem to be in a rush to empty their plate want to enjoy every moment in their lives with absolutely no hurry. They follow this pattern in their workplace and personal life and sometimes it can make them lose track of time.

Those of you who finish your food in 5 minutes must be really good at multitasking. Fast eaters never miss a deadline and usually make it a day or 2 before it ends. They are also very competitive and always on the run which means that they are bound to miss some very important moments in their own lives. They can be so caught up in fulfilling all their obligations that they forget to take care of themselves.

If every time an adventurer goes at a restaurant he or she tries to find the weirdest, most unique dish. People who do this usually like to take risks and are not afraid they will fail. They will even say “yes” to the craziest idea, wanting to try new things.

Nobody ever perceives them as boring and many admire them for their bravery and risk-taking decisions. However, they should be careful to not pressure others to be as adventurous as they are, since not everyone is fit for taking risks.

It's very unusual for a picky eater to order at a restaurant without asking any questions or requesting to omit or add some ingredients. These people are very safe in their comfort zone and are very afraid to take that extra step that might reveal something they didn't know about themselves.

They only take jobs that they know perfectly well and don't take any risks, fearing that they might fail. However, they are very eager learners and are not afraid to ask questions and learn things they previously didn't know.

You might think that diving into water, like peering over a cliff's edge, would provide a little adrenaline rush. But it turns out that just the opposite is true. “Water submersion has some counterintuitive calming effects, says Roly Russell, a researcher at the Sandhill Institute for Complexity and Sustainability.

When a person's face is underwater, research has found that heart rate slows and certain blood vessels constrict. Blood is redistributed from the limbs to the brain, heart, and other central organs. Vagal tone and parasympathetic nervous system activity-both of which are associated with the body's “rest-and-digest” States are turned up. At the same time, elements of the sympathetic nervous system and the body's “fight-or-fight” responses tend to mellow out.

Russell says that these physiological shifts are known collectively as the human “dive response” or “dive reflex.” The dive reflex was first observed in marine mammals like seals, and it's thought to help the mammalian body conserve oxygen when underwater. The human dive reflex is so reliable that ER doctors have used it to treat certain types of cardiac diseases, including the type that occur during panic attacks.

Public-health and urban-planning experts have long recognized the well-being benefits of parks, trees, and other “green spaces.” A 2016 research review conducted by the World Health Organization concluded that green spaces can reduce morbidity and mortality among city dwellers in part by reducing stress and boosting “psychological relaxation.”

While water often features in these green spaces the “blue” elements of these urban green spaces have tended to be glossed over in the health research.
